Field trip

Today was Molly and Brynn's first field trip with their preschool and they went pumpkin picking at Solley Brothers Farm. They've been talking about this for weeks now and couldn't wait to go. We had a fun time even though the weather didn't cooperate to well. As soon as we got there the clouds started rolling in and when the hayride began, Brynn announced she had a raindrop hit her cheek. They had different stations that included learning about their honey bees, where they clean their apples, and let the kids pick apples from their orchard. They then had a farm fear factor where they brought the kids up to eat different vegetables with their eyes closed. Surprisingly Molly went up and she got to eat a caterpillar ( aka a raw string bean) She chewed and chewed but when they went back to their seat she ran over to me to spit it out!! I laughed because another mom standing there almost gagged when she spit it into my hand. I guess she never had gaggers like my kids! Anyway, the rain held out for a bit with some sprinkles but by the time we got to the end of the tour and to the pumpkin picking was about to start the rain began to fall heavier and the wind picked up. We ran and got our pumpkins and mostly everyone walked back to the parking lot instead of taking the hayride back. I tried to convince the girls this would probably be the best thing to do but they weren't buying it so we hopped back on the hayride with a few other kids and snuggled in for the ride back.

No that's not a spot on Molly's forehead, if you look close it's actually a bee flying by!!
