I woke up this morning to Molly telling me "we're bringing breakfast up here!" Tim and the kids made me breakfast in bed for Mother's Day. It was such a nice treat!! Aidan actually started to make me breakfast on his own before Tim got up and he prepared a pop-tart and orange juice. Tim made pancakes so I got to get both! yummy!!! All 3 kids sat with me in bed and Molly and Brynn made sure to share my pancakes with me. Aidan gave me his present first which was a gift card to the movies. He said me and him can go. Brynn and Molly gave me a Dora beanie baby and a twix candy bar. Can you tell that they picked out the presents??? It was a fun lazy day.
First the kids and I went to the cemetery to meet my sister who was planting flowers for my mom. Mother's day is always bittersweet now, it makes me realize how much I miss my mom. I can still remember making her breakfast in bed when I was little. Afterwards, we stopped to get soft pretzels on the way home and then went to pick up Daddy to go to the park. We walked the trails for a bit and then played on the playground for awhile. We finally got them off of there by trying to fly a kite. Tim and Aidan were determined to do this. While it was windy the whole time we were there, it seemed to stop right when they pulled out the kite. After many failed attempts we finally decided it was enough and left. We picked up dinner on the way home. Now everyone is pretty much pooped out. Aidan is building one of his lego sets from his birthday, Molly is sitting with me waiting to play the "puter" and Brynn is laying on the floor with Sammy watching tv. Tim's dozing off on the couch and I'm sure in another 10 minutes I'll be yelling at him for snoring!! It's a typical night at the McCay household and the perfect way to be spending Mother's Day.
