Saturday we had our nephew, Ryan's 3rd birthday party. It was a pool party and the girls loved the pool. Brynn seems to think she can swim and will show you how as she moves her arms in a freestyle motion. She would walk right into the pool if you let her and try to swim. We had swimmies on her and she had fun playing in the pool. Molly took a little bit to warm up but finally tried the swimmies on too and was swimming with her Uncle Jeff. She was excited to learn she could do it by herself when he let go of her for a minute but at the same time she was also done. I think the minute was long enough for her and she has been bragging since how she swam all by herself!
We had to leave the party early to head over to another friends house for dinner since we planned it weeks ago. This was at the parents of Aidan's best friend from school. We've been trying to get together with them for awhile now but every time they would ask it seemed we were busy. They called in advance to set a date with us so we didn't want to cancel on them when it turned out Ryan's party was the same day. We cooked out for dinner and the kids all played well together. They have Jacob who is Aidan' s age and then they have twin boys who just turned 5. The girls had a so much fun chasing them around the yard. It was all fun and games until Brynn was hysterical crying screaming to us on the deck. I thought for sure it was going to be that she saw a bug but if only I could've been so lucky. It turns out she had an explosive diaper moment to put it lightly. Apparently, it ran out of her pull up and down her leg and then she put her hand into it. Jacob's mom, Julie, let me use her bathroom and I had to put her in the tub to get her cleaned up. She lent us a pair of shorts from the boys and Brynn was upset about it until she found out they were Jacob's. Thankfully, they were so understanding. Julie told us a story of how the same thing happened to one of her twins at one of Jacob's friends house and when she was cleaning him off, it got all over the bathroom rug. Being parents of twins themselves they've been through it all before too. Once Brynn was all cleaned up and back to playing we had dessert. Julie had a pound cake and some brownies and we brought over some strawberries and whip cream. She sliced up the pound cake and had it on a plate. When the kids came over to get some Brynn announced she wanted to have the "big bread" for dessert. Funny thing is that Brynn probably would've been just as happy eating a piece of real bread as much as the cake. She's a true carb addict!!!
