We also had a busy Labor Day weekend. We had our friend's 40th birthday party on Sat. On Sunday we had a bunch of old friends over. We've been friends with all of them since high school and we don't see each other as often anymore but when we do it's always fun. All the kids (they outnumber us now) had a ball playing together and Molly and Brynn followed all the big kids around even playing flashlight tag later that night. We're planning on trying to go to our 20 year high school reunion this November. How crazy is that, that it's been 20 years!!!
On labor day we went over to Tim's Grandmom's at her assisted living center to celebrate her 90th birthday. She was so surprised her whole family came including some of her great grandchildren. She told us she's been lying about her age for years because she didn't realize she was turning 90 this year. She thought she was only 88!! It was fun seeing her and makes me realize how much I miss my Grandmom. They used to get along so well and we would always get them together when my Grandmom would stay with us. They used to gossip and laugh and both would complain about their late husbands. They were always funny to listen to.
So after a busy weekend, Aidan had to start school on Tuesday. It was his first day of 4th grade. He was excited to go back but at the same time I don't think he wanted summer to be over. His big news this year is that he's finally a bus rider. We live in walking distance to his school so he's always been a walker but this year they're trying to convert over to all buses so now he gets to go on the bus everyday. He was the most nervous about this but is already used to it after a few days. The girls have been walking him to the bus stop and have to give him hugs and kisses before he gets on. He's such a good sport and will let them before he leaves. Not sure how much longer till he finds this embarrassing!!! The girls miss him to death while he's gone and can't wait till it's time to go pick him up. Brynn hugs him when he gets off the bus like she hasn't seen him in a month. It's too cute!
So now the girls are counting down the days till they start preschool. On Wed night their school had a meet me at the playground so they could meet their teachers. They met one little girl who will be in their class but there were so many kids there you don't know who was who. It was the whole school included. There are two 3 year old classes and two 4 year old classes. Molly and Brynn were both excited to meet their teacher, Mrs. Garson. Aidan had her when he was there so they've been hearing us talk about her. We brought Aidan along with us and they couldn't get over how tall he was. Of course they haven't seen him since he was 4 so I'm sure that's a huge difference. The girls first day is this Tuesday but they only go for a 1/2 hour and I stay with them. Then on Thurs it's the first day they go by themselves. I keep telling them over and over how I'll drive them there and drop them off because the Mommy's aren't allowed to stay, only the kids that are 3 can but then I'll come back and pick them up. I'm not worried about Brynn because she's our more out going one and could care less where we are. Molly on the other hand usually will stay by my side in a new place. Of course they'll probably totally prove me wrong and act the opposite. We'll soon see!!!!
