Right now, Tim and Aidan are over his parents enjoying the nice Christmas dinner we were all supposed to be at. I'm here sitting on the sofa with Molly sound asleep next to me and Brynn on the other side watching Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas for the 3rd time today. The seasonal stomach bug decided to visit the McCay household for Christmas this year. Aidan was the first to get it last weekend and after a few days of no more casualties I thought we were in the clear. But last night around 10pm Brynn started. We had to strip her bed and throw her in the tub. She fell back to sleep but was up again around 3. Luckily, Daddy was sleeping with her so he was able to catch it in time. Around 5 I thought I heard her again but this time it was Molly. She wasn't quite as bad but I laid down with her just to be safe. So there we were in the early Christmas morn' with our sick twins. Brynn announced she didn't want Daddy sleeping with her anymore so he went back to bed but was up the stairs in a blink when Molly started coughing and gagged a little. He was trained pretty good to jump at the first noise. I guess he forgot that I was in her bed with her.
Luckily, the girls bounced back pretty quick from it and were able to enjoy opening all their presents. Brynn was a little disappointed that Santa wasn't at our house because she wanted to eat cookies with him. I guess by us keep telling them that Santa was coming meant he was coming over to visit. Brynn only got sick one more time but that was after she insisted up drinking apple juice. She was crying for orange juice and the water just wasn't cutting it. They stayed in their jammies all day and watched movies. The new Tinkerbell movie from Santa couldn't have come at a better time. Tim and Aidan went over Grammy's and PopPop's but we didn't want to risk contaminating anybody else especially little Erin. Tim was nice enough to run a yummy turkey dinner home for me as Molly slept on the sofa and Brynn was laying on the loveseat I ate my Christmas dinner. I'm sure this will go down as a Christmas that won't be forgotten anytime soon.
Update, Sunday 12/29

When I saw Tim had been on our family site at something like 2:30 AM, Uncle Larry commented "Uh, Oh, sounds like they might have gotten some kind of "bug" for Christmas." Sorry to hear he was right. Glad all are recovering. Stay well...Happy New Year. Love, AA and UL
