Fear Factor

Our house is like my own personal fear factor right now because within the past week and a half, Tim has caught 3 mice. I can handle bugs, tarantula size spiders but when it comes to mice I'm about ready to move out. Tim knowing all this conveniently forgot to mention that he even put traps out. Not the regular metal mouse trap that you put a piece of cheese on but he instead got the nice sticky pads that the mouse gets stuck on and can't move. But is right out in the open for me to see. The first one I found when I was in our laundry room. You can see where our water heater is that the space behind it goes under the steps and into the crawl space. I noticed something dark and at first thought it was rolled up lint from the dryer that I missed throwing into the trash can. I almost reached down to pick it up and for some reason decided to take a closer look to see it was indeed a dead mouse. I'm sure the neighbors probably heard me scream like a girl. Tim sealed it up in a bag and threw it out in the trash can outside and reassured me that there wasn't anymore. Yea right!!!

The other night we were at walmart and we're checking out and I noticed that he added more of the mouse traps along with a new kind that the mouse walks into and gets stuck inside. It's own mouse motel. When I asked why he was buying these he laughed and said he "thinks" he may have saw another one in the laundry room but couldn't be sure because it was so fast. Fine if he can catch them and throw them away with me none the wiser than go for it. When I was going to bed that night I went into the kitchen to get a glass of water only to find 2 traps in my kitchen by our dishwasher. Of course I screamed at him for again lying to me and he confessed that he did indeed see it in the kitchen and it ran under the dishwasher!!!! So now I make as much noise as possible before entering a room because the last thing I need to see is a mouse scurry about.

The very next night we're sitting watching tv after the kids were in bed and heard a scratching noise from the kitchen and a plastic hitting plastic noise. Tim went out and there in the mouse motel was the live mouse!!! Lovely!!!!

Earlier tonight Tim comes up from downstairs with a bag that he's tying up and informed me we caught another one in the laundry room. Hooray!!! We should celebrate!

At dinner tonight we were talking about the mice situation because Aidan's wants to catch one and then keep it as a pet. He is not my son!! Molly chimed in that she doesn't like mice, she just likes "mouses".

The only mouse I can handle
