On Friday night, Aidan had his annual Blue and Gold banquet for cub scouts. This is held for his entire pack and their families. This year it was at Maggio's in their new banquet room. The scouts earn all their awards and get to cross over to the next den. Aidan received his bear patch and has crossed over to the webelos. It was a fun night and the girls had a ball once the food was served. It started at 6:15 and they did all the awards for the scouts first so by the time we ate it was after 7:30. Brynn was in meltdown mode by that point because she was starving. Once she ate she was back to her old self and loved the entertainment. They had a caricature artist to draw all the scouts and their siblings. I was surprised when we were watching Aidan get his done, Brynn was ready to be next. She kept asking for her to "draw me". At one point she tried to climb in the chair with another little girl that was getting drawn so she could be done too. She doesn't quite get the waiting in line concept. They did both finally get drawn and the artist did such a cute job on the girls. She made them both princesses and they look like little dolls in the picture.

The other entertainment for the night was an animal show. The had a woman who brought a bunch of different animals from turtles, to skunks, to a giant python snake. Molly & Brynn were both right up front and center for the show. At that age, Aidan would've been hanging back with mom and dad and never sat up front for something like that. They pet every animal they were allowed to and seemed to love it. The parents enjoyed the show too but I think were more fascinated with the woman doing the show. For every animal she got out to present she would say she had 2 or 3 more of the same kind at home. She then went on to explain that she doesn't live on a farm, in fact she lives on the main line and keeps all the animals in her house. I wish I took pictures of all the parents faces. She said how the fox she has likes to play with her skunks but they're in their own room because of the cats! Every animal she showed too she would kiss when she got it out. From that point on, she was know as the Crazy animal lady! It was entertaining to say the least!
